Day 88: Check Out Our Competition

Most people have a bad feeling about the word "competition." The word simply means that consumers have a choice.

One of our "competitors" is Chuck Colson's "Centurions" Program. The program attempts to teach a Christian worldview. It covers literature, movies, culture, and personal devotion. Chuck Colson was a Marine until the day he died, so there's no talk of "swords into plowshares." Although Prison Fellowship does a great job of ministering to prisoners, it doesn't really attack root and branch the institution that imprisons them.

America's Founding Fathers abolished their government. They would certainly abolish ours. There is no talk about this in the Centurions Program. There certainly is no questioning the institution as a whole.

Distinguished Christian leader Chuck Colson launched the Centurions Program in 2004 to equip serious Christians “to become change agents to strengthen the Church and, in turn, the culture for generations to come.”

The Centurions Program only takes 100 people per year. We need many more such programs.
